OTCN Research daily crypto trade signals cover, Thursday 15 October 2026

5 crypto trade ideas for 15 October 2026: 4 long and 1 short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.

Today’s framework

Thursday 15 October 2026. Bitcoin is testing the 80,000 psychological threshold. The source of the fall is not crypto but a debt panic in AI infrastructure: when the yield on CoreWeave’s bond rose above 15%, risk appetite was pulled from everywhere. Yesterday ether fell 6.16%, Solana 5.36%, Avalanche 6.83% and XRP 5.18%.

Four of the ideas are long and one is short, all taken at the market. All are medium-term ideas. Bitcoin, ether, Solana and Avalanche are on the long side after the sell-off, with bitcoin, Solana and Avalanche still above their 200-day averages; XRP is the short, below its 200-day average and lagging bitcoin.

Trade ideas

The entry condition says whether the idea is taken at the market or only once a stated level, a confirmation or the data release is met.

  • 1. BTC — long.
Bitcoin is at $80,588 and touched 80,226 overnight; the 80,000 psychological threshold is being tested today. The source of the fall is not crypto but a debt panic in AI infrastructure: when the yield on CoreWeave’s bond rose above 15%, risk appetite was pulled from everywhere. Against that, the trend is still up and the price is 7.4% above its 200-day average; it is the strongest setup of the day.
Invalidated if: A daily close below 79,900.
  • 2. ETH — long.
Ether is at $2,349 and was the worst of the majors yesterday with a 6.16% fall; momentum at 38 is oversold and the trend has turned mixed. The liquidation data shows the imbalance: $286 million of ether positions were closed in 24 hours, while the ether futures market is roughly half the size of bitcoin’s. When liquidity thins, the same selling hits twice as hard here.
Invalidated if: A close below 2,318.
  • 3. SOL — long.
Solana is at $101.55 and fell 5.36% yesterday; the weekly loss is 12.68% and momentum at 38 is oversold. The $100 psychological threshold is just below. The price is 6% above its 200-day average, and there is a network upgrade on 21 October.
Invalidated if: A close below 100.
  • 4. AVAX — long.
Avalanche is at $9.51 and fell 6.83% yesterday; the weekly loss is 14.53% and it has dropped below $10. Momentum at 48 is neutral and the monthly gain is still 25.8%. The price is 8.9% above its 200-day average.
Invalidated if: A close below 9.33.
  • 5. XRP — short.
XRP is at $1.2952 and fell 5.18% yesterday; the weekly loss is 8.88% and it has lagged bitcoin by 10.3% over the past month. The price is below its 200-day average and screens as a short setup. Momentum at 38 is close to oversold, so the size is small.
Invalidated if: A close above 1.336.
