2 crypto trade ideas for 30 October 2026: both short. Entry, stop and two targets are given for each, with the reasoning and the level at which the idea is abandoned.
Today’s framework
Friday 30 October 2026. Bitcoin is at $78,614 after falling to a six-week low overnight. The cause is the $6.3 billion theft from Binance, where withdrawals were halted, and institutional investors have started pulling money from other exchanges too. The exchange risk hits ether harder because its futures market is thinner.
Both ideas are short; both wait for a bounce into the entry band. Both are medium-term ideas. The common thread is the exchange risk that followed the Binance theft.

1. BTC — short.
Bitcoin is at $78,614 and fell to a six-week low overnight, touching 76,500; $1.5 billion of positions were liquidated in 24 hours. There is one cause: $6.3 billion was stolen from Binance and withdrawals were halted, and institutional investors have started pulling money from other exchanges as well. The 18,270 bitcoin held by the attacker cannot be frozen and sit idle in 19 wallets. Standard Chartered says a new floor will not form until the situation with the assets is resolved. The direction is down, but the size is a quarter because the course of events is uncertain.
Invalidated if: A close above 81,100. -
2. ETH — short.
At $2,246.90, ether is making successive lower highs and lower lows; it touched 2,174 overnight and $358 million of positions were liquidated. The monthly loss is 16.10%, and with momentum at 31 it is oversold. The exchange risk hits it harder than bitcoin because the ether futures market is thinner.
Invalidated if: A close above 2,360.
